2. Consider the motif of the word “nevermore.” How does this motif become increasingly more important as the poem goes on?
3. This poem has been popular for more than one hundred years. Explain why you think the poem does or does not merit this continued attention.
4. What does the Raven eventually come to represent?
5. Do you think grief can truly cause a person to permanently lose the ability to reason? Explain.
